After thousands of costume changes at Greasepaint over the years, we’re super excited to end 2017 with two more: A modern new logo and a brand new website!
Like your favorite actor in a whole new role, we felt it was time to reinvent the Greasepaint logo. Embracing a “very millennial” (!) lowercase typeface we wanted a fresh new look that would front the same timeless values and qualities that Greasepaint Youth Theater has always represented. Likewise, we’ve modernized the logo for Scottsdale Community Players too. So if you noticed our new logos on arrival, fear not – you’re in the right place!
Our website has also been keen to explore a new look for a while now, and we’re delighted to give her a contemporary make over just in time for new year. It’s what’s known as a “responsive” design, meaning that it scales seamlessly on any device. Visit us on your smartphone. Or iPad. Same experience right? Hopefully you’ll find us better organized too. Easier navigation, up to date content, lots of white space. Take a look around. Grab a coffee and settle in; we’ll wait! And come back often – we’ll be constantly updating and extending our site to promote our shows, celebrate our heritage and give you more opportunity to interact.
But behind the prettier face, it was important that we also improved the mechanics too. We now have a more streamlined process for buying tickets. Tickets for shows. And tickets for classes. If you like seeing shows, or even see yourself, at Greasepaint then this process should be easier. And if it isn’t, let us know; we kept some elves at hand to work on any problems that you might find.
If you’re looking to audition in a future show, then we’ve got a shiny new process for that too. Our next auditions will be for Madagascar, and you’ll be able to sign up for audition slots without leaving our site. If you want to know when the auditions will be, subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook. We’ll use both to keep you updated – it’s like having your very own lead AND understudy, just to be sure!
We’re also excited to be launching our new blog, where we’ll take you behind the scenes with the people and productions at the famed Stagebrush Theater, home to Greasepaint Youth Theater and Scottsdale Community Players. It’s a great place to start if you want to know more about our mission and values and hear first hand from our producing artistic director, Moe Watson.
It just wouldn’t be Greasepaint without Moe, but she’d be the first to say that none of this is about Moe. Greasepaint Youth Theater programming is designed to develop the life skills and aesthetic knowledge that youth will carry with them both as artists and audiences of tomorrow. Our mission is to provide unique and compelling theatre experiences that educate and challenge young people to stretch the boundaries of imagination and awareness and achieve a positive sense of self. So while the website and logos might have changed, our mission most certainly hasn’t.
Please enjoy our new home online – and come see us on 2nd Street too. You’re always welcome.
