The 2018 Arizoni Theatre of Excellence for Best Original Play will enlighten us to think a bit outside of ourselves. With every stress we live in our lives each day, sometimes our tunnel vision puts us in a box, therefore, it boxes everyone else out and their reason for distress. This is your opportunity to be part of this dramatic theatre experience in our summer intensive for ages 11 and up.
Sara has been given responsibility and pressure to care for her developmentally disabled brother while taking on the role of an inexperienced parent. While Sara blindly and kindly tries her best to give them what they need, she inevitably falls into a darkness that holds her tight and close.
As the pressure from caring for her brother and the household, doing her best to understand her own existence, it overwhelms her and she has stumbled on a place that seems to give her comfort and an excuse to be torn and broken. This place is ‘The Pit”.
It’s where you can give up and everyone understands. Will Sara give up?
Ultimately uplifting, this play does deal with serious issues and themes.
For serious theatre kids interested in working on plays with real-life themes.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
