Alumni Spotlight – February 2026

We get such immense satisfaction watching Greasepaint Alums out in the world, adulting in all their glory! Greasepaint parents… make sure your GP kids see this post for inspiration – it can be them in another 5-10 years!

GP Alums Together in Come From Away

We see some very familiar faces in Come From Away at The Phoenix Theatre Company, and we’re feeling all the full-circle feels.

  • EJ Dohring – Greasepaint kiddo back in the day and now an Equity actor, lighting up the stage.
  • D. Scott Withers – former GP AD and director of many shows here, now part of this incredible production.
  • Alan Plado – Music Director, longtime GP collaborator, NY and AZ based MD with national tours under his belt. (And yes, Scott + Alan have always been a powerhouse team.)
  • Caleb Reese – Equity actor, longtime favorite human, and a familiar face from SCP’s Next to Normal, RENT, and Spring Awakening.

This is exactly why community theatre matters. Kids grow up. Artists grow forward. And somehow… they keep finding their way back to the same circle of good people.
Go see Come From Away and support these incredible artists who will always be part of our Greasepaint family.

Carson Takes on Utah

Open the website for Pioneer Theatre Company in Utah and the first thing you see in the banner video is our very own GP Alum and all-around good human, Carson Stewart, in his lead role playing Mike from Ten Brave Seconds.

Then have a listen to the music from this vibrant and heartfelt new musical that all takes place on one day in the life of an American teenager. It will open your eyes and recalibrate your heart!

Bravo, Carson!

From Stage to Film

Ok GP Alums… we see you… all SIX of you… taking on a short psychological thriller! Could follows Eve on her journey home, alone in the dark. We don’t have all the deets yet, but they were caught filming on site at Stagebrush Theatre (home of Greasepaint) late over the weekend. Ok, yes, they did have permission – so not really ‘caught’. But you can bet your bottom dollar that we’ll be watching all the action unfold on these two Insta accounts: @could_short and @onewiththefilms
